We were proud to support the 4th Annual Captiva Coastal Cleanup!
From event organizers Sarah & Jimmy Burnsed:
140 fine folks crawled through mangrove bushes, tumbled around the bottom of Redfish Pass, and combed island beaches during our 4th annual Captiva Coastal Clean Up to fill not just one but TWO dumpsters!
Thank you to everyone who spent their Saturday with us, making our little piece of paradise a cleaner and safer place! Our community is amazing.
Our gratitude to our incredible sponsors; this event would not be possible without:
- Captiva Cruises is an exceptional waterfront venue complete with slips for our 20+ boats, a beach for the 25 kayaks and paddleboards, and parking for cars and trailers. Amazing staff to set up tents, tables, and chairs and direct the crowd!
- Keep Lee County Beautiful for operational support and grant funds from SW FAEP to support this event! From kayak whistles to tablecloths to dumpsters to registration, you have us covered
- RS Walsh Landscaping for sponsoring our delicious BBQ feast from Pop’s!
- Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team for boats and guides
- Scuba Quest of Cape Coral for air fills, floating dive flags, mesh collection bags, and lift bags
- Captiva Rod and Gun Club for the indispensable tent
- The Green Flash for accommodations to host out-of-town professional divers
- Captiva LCSO officers on the water keeping divers safe in Redfish Pass and FWC LE divers scraping out the south side wall!
- The Joanna Heath Foundation for fiscal support for supplies
- The Island Store on Captiva for delicious dessert and coozies
- Awesome representation from the Great Calusa Blueway, FGCU divers, and Cape Coral Salt Strong!
- To my FWC dive friends who come early and stay late to help sticker buckets, prep, load, unload, and clean up…
Jimmy and I are so proud of what our group continues to accomplish year after year. Thank you to everyone for your support!
