The winner of our March photo contest is Marianne Pasqual. The theme of the contest was “Palms in Black and White.” Submitted photos were posted on our In The Garden Facebook and Instagram pages and at our Sanibel garden center. Visitors to the Facebook and Instagram pages and the garden center were able to vote on their favorites. Pasqual’s photo received the most votes.
The photo was taken on Sanibel Island at the Island Inn. She said right after she took the photo, she and her mother enjoyed the hammocks and the palm trees provided just enough shade to sway in the sun. She will receive a $50 gift certificate to In The Garden and her photo will be printed in local newspapers. Honorable mentions go to Marletta Short, Laurie Hafener, Darrell Burton, and Cliff Beittel
The theme for April is Living Life on the Wild (Life) Side. The deadline for entries is April 1. Submissions should include the photographer’s name, phone number, the location of the photo and a short story behind the picture.
